Before working full time on my own creative projects, I spent about 14 years in offices. I worked at the United Nations Development Program doing research for the Arab Human Development Report, I then worked as a research analyst at Energy Intelligence writing reports on crude oil, natural gas and geopolitics. I then went on to work for a couple of unfortunate years as an associate client advisor at Swiss bank UBS in London. That was followed by a year as a copywriter and content architect at advertising agency J. Walter Thompson in Beirut. From there, I joined Keeward Group (including other parts of the company like Bookwitty, Gate37) from 2011 to 2017. There I worked on setting up the content creation team and a series of media partnerships, as well as setting up the more experimental music side of the business.

Since January 2018, I've been fully focussed on my writing (both fiction and non-fiction), developing documentaries, and helping my wife grow her design brand, Nour Hage.

I obtained a BA Political Studies from the American University in Beirut (2003) and an MSc in International Politics of the Middle East from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London (2004). I later studied Entrepreneurship with Babson College and UCL School of Management (2015/2016).  In 2017/2018 I attended the acclaimed Faber Academy 'Writing a Novel' course.
